Simple, specific ways to take part:

We are always looking for people to help us ask our politicians to SAY NO to the Mark Clark extension and to push for transportation improvements to Johns Island. There are lots of ways you can help.  Here are just a few.  Please send us an email for more information.

1.  Put a sign in your front yard.  Plywood and spray paint work best.  Send a clear message to everyone driving by that you think the Mark Clark extension to Johns Island is a bad idea.  Make sure to put the website (www.no526.com) on your sign.  Think of your own message or use one of these.

Say NO to the Mark Clark Extension
Stop the Mark Clark extension to Johns Island
I love Johns Island
Let's Nix 526

2.  Sign our online petition.  Email the link to our online petition to your friends (http://www.PetitionOnline.com/mrkclrk/petition.html).

3.  Invite a speaker to your church group, garden club, neighborhood association, etc. about the Mark Clark extension.  Please send us an email if you would like one of us to come to your event and give a presentation about the Mark Clark extension.

4.  Write a letter to the editor of the Charleston Post and Courier.

5. Download the printable version of our online petition. Pass it around at church meetings, garden clubs or any other gatherings.

6. Attend the Design Charette and share your opinion on alternative solutions.

7.  Come back to this website after the charrette to write a letter to the Charleston Legislative Delegation urging them to stop all funding for the Mark Clark extension and urge them to include the alternatives in the Environmental Impact Statement.

8. Talk to your friends neighbors about your opposition to I-526 and encourage them to talk to their friends and neighbors.

9. Let people know that this website is a resource for them.

10. Please contact us for more ideas.
